October 2007 Business

1) “F” was the moderator & Jeanette timed for the meeting

2) Creating a Mental Health Professional Contact Page on our website:
We discussed creating a new page for the website that would show any mental health professionals who would like to have their names and contact info. listed. We would only post those who are comfortable working with DID/dissociative clients. “C”drafted a proposed website page and email invitation (to go to everyone on the email list), both of which the group discussed, edited and approved. As of this posting, there is now a web page on our site waiting to be filled with names of those mental health professionals who are willing to help.

3) Partner’s Group:
The idea of starting a partner’s group was approved. Our group agreed that this was a good idea as long as it didn’t interfere with the privacy of those in the current DID group. Since it was discussed that it would be most convenient to have the partner’s group meet at the same time and in the same general area, the partner’s group would need to meet in a different building, and members from the partner’s group should not plan to come back to the DID group meeting room/building to meet their DID partner. In general, it was decided that the partner’s group, once started, could run itself as they desire. We would provide them with our basic guidelines, from which they can create their own if they wish. To start with though, it will be peer led, and will meet in a public area nearby at no cost. An initial group of a few will meet first to get this started. More information will be posted in coming months – so that this group is more open and available to others as well.

September 2007 Business

1) “C” was the moderator for the meeting

2) Creating a Therapist Contact Page on our website:
We discussed creating a new page for the website that would show any therapists who would like to have their names and contact info listed. We would only post those who are comfortable working with DID/dissociative clients. The group felt this could really be a help to DID people who are looking for therapists. “C” is going to draft a proposed website page and email invitation (to current therapists on the email list), to bring to the next meeting for discussion/edits.

3) Different Meeting Location?:
The group briefly discussed the idea of changing meeting locations to something further north. For non-city folks, getting into the city can be quite a trip, not to mention parking. The idea was tossed around, but no decision one way or another was made. The current location is fine. If someone finds something else that could work better, we will probably revisit the idea then.

4) Partner’s Group?:
A sidebar discussion occurred (but seemed important enough to post) about the idea of starting a partner’s group. This could be a peer-led group just like the DID group for partners/friends/relatives of those of us with DID. We thought this could possibly be a very helpful group. This idea will be discussed more officially at the next meeting.

August 2007 Business

2) PO Box:
Our current PO Box is still active as an address and all mail sent there will be received by New Landscape, but we don’t physically have the box anymore. All mail sent to our PO Box will be automatically forwarded to “F’s” address, for up to one year. We will decide about getting a new PO Box by July of next year (which is when the one year forwarding deal expires).

3) General:
The group spent almost the entire meeting sharing. There was very little business to discuss. In general, the group has been hoping to get to this point and it’s great to see that it is.

June 2007 Business

**SPECIAL NOTICE**
The July 2007 Meeting is Cancelled!!!:

None of the “regulars” will be there to moderate, so there will be no meeting for the month of July. We will meet again in August.

1) Moderator for the June meeting:
“C” was the moderator for this meeting.

2) Format of the meeting:
We discussed how to determine the length of time for the Org. Issues at each meeting. We decided that it would be determined at the beginning of each meeting, based on how much material any one person needed to discuss. For this meeting we decided to leave 20 minutes at the end to discuss Org. Issues. In general we’d like to have as much time as possible for the sharing portion of the meeting.

3) Forwarding Emails sent to New Landscape:
We discussed whether or not to forward a particular email to the New Landscape email list. We decided not to forward it because it doesn’t have to do with DID/MPD in particular. We are really trying to keep our site and our postings limited to this. However, we will go ahead and post a notice about it below as it may be helpful to some on the list.

4) Notice:

5) PO Box:
We are in the process of renewing the PO Box and transferring the keys to a different group member.

6) New Landscape Pamphlet:
We worked on updating the pamphlet. We will eventually post it on the website so that people can download and print it out.
